We provide comprehensive, affordable after school and summer programming for youth ages 6 through 18. Membership costs just $10 per child per year and entitles youth to unlimited Club access. LPF redistributes equipment to expand access and equity within youth sports and recreation programs in under-resourced communities. Leveling the Playing Field was founded in 2013 in response to the growing inequity between those that can afford to play sports and those that cannot, and the prominent role the cost of sporting goods was playing in that gap. After working in youth sports, college athletics and professional football, LPF founder, Max Levitt, realized the volume of equipment that goes to waste from elementary school aged kids all the way up to our professional sports franchises. In response, Max decided to develop essentially a food bank for sports equipment.

Over the last 15 years, the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer has raised $32 million for The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC - James). Proceeds currently benefit the following funds at the OSUCCC – James: the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer Fund a Need, Buckeye Cruise for Cancer Research Fund and the newly created Lisa Cisco Endowment for Cancer Research, all making a positive impact on the lives of patients and families.

The 5KforJK nonprofit started as a walk for 1 and quickly turned into a non-profit organization for 1 million. There are 1 million people in the U.S. living with Parkinson's, 90,000 are diagnosed each year. The 5KforJK nonprofit wants to reduce fear of the unknown and empower patients to take control of their journey!

Buckeye Paws was initiated in March 2020, with the mission of supporting the mental and emotional health of staff at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center through highly trained, certified therapy dog-handler teams. Due to the success of the program and support from President Kristina M. Johnson and the Buckeye Paws Advisory Board, in March 2022, Buckeye Paws announced their expansion to provide therapy dog assistance to students, faculty and staff of The Ohio State University.

The dogs of Buckeye Paws are certified through Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD).

The Buddy Box Program provides food to children facing food insecurity on the weekends, when they do not have access to school provided meals. A Buddy Box is a box filled with kid-friendly, nutritious, nonperishable food items.

PAA organizes the Ohio Youth-Led Prevention Network (OYLPN) which is a statewide network of youth-led substance misuse prevention and mental health promotion providers and youth who are committed to the cornerstones of youth-led prevention, positive youth development, peer to peer messaging and youth empowerment.

Landon was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic disorder caused by a mutation in the TBCD gene. Landon is the only child living in the United States with his specific mutation and condition. There is no name for such a rare disease, and no viable treatment.

The LandOn A Cure Foundation mission is to raise awareness, deliver the urgent medical interventions and further medical research focused on rare genetic disorders like TBCD. Funded entirely by the LandOn A Cure Foundation, with your help, you can help fund immediate research into TBCD; aiming to provide potential life-saving treatments to Landon and the lives battling rare disease. Urgency of support is of essence.

Over the past 33 years, the SFPE Burn Golf Outing has raised nearly $550,000 benefitting The Ohio State Comprehensive Burn Center and The Burn Center at Nationwide Children's Hospital to improve the lives of our burn survivors on a daily basis.

The Ohio State Comprehensive Burn Center is the only adult ABA-verified Burn Center in central Ohio. Being an ABA-verified burn center provides a true mark of distinction for a burn center. Verification is an indicator to government, third-party providers, patients, families and credit organizations, that the center provides high quality patient care to burn patients from time of injury through rehabilitation. The American Burn Association (ABA) offers this program to verify that a burn center is meeting the highest current standards of care for the burn-injured patient. Our team of specialists treats a variety of burns, ranging from minor to severe in an inpatient and outpatient setting.

The Burn Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital

The Burn Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive multidisciplinary care to children with burn injuries and cutaneous conditions. The Burn Center team provides collaborative treatment throughout the patient care continuum to optimize patient outcomes.

Additionally, the dedicated burn nurses deliver an established burn prevention program to school age children throughout the district and the burn program staff offers burn education to the academic and medical community.

Directions for Youth & Families impacts over 6,300 youth and their families each year through mental, emotional and behavioral health services. DFYF are a resiliency-oriented, trauma-informed agency working and training with experts and educators. Through counseling, education and support programs we are proud of the impact we have in contributing to a healthy community – one individual, one family at a time.
